Social and Political
I have always believed that an artist has a special obligation to remind society of its social responsibilities.
The series, "Portraits of Cambodia", speaks of the pain of violent separation, the sense of hopelessness, and the profound loss of identity and numbing fear that war, flightened internment brings.
My "Immigration Experience" series embodies many forceful narrative images with tales of success and failures among Asian, African and Latin American immigrants in America.
