| PACITA ABAD ART AWARDS 2006 |
CALL TO ARTISTS ! We are accepting proposals from artists living in emerging Asian countries for Awards of US$1,000 to $2,000 to fund art projects and activities in 2006 “Fundación Pacita” is offering grants and stipends to support the development of committed painters, printmakers, sculptors and multimedia artists from emerging Asian countries. Pacita Abad Art Awards are offered to individual artists, as well as to Asian art organizations and will be given for activities which allow artists to develop their professional skills and artistic knowledge. The criteria for a Pacita Abad Art Award are demonstrated artistic commitment, project merit and financial need. Short-listed applicants will be requested to complete a more detailed application, which must be submitted by email before November 1, 2005. The winners of Pacita Abad Art Awards for 2006 will be announced on December 7, 2005 at www.pacitaabad.com. “Fundación Pacita” – The Pacita Abad Foundation was established in 2005 to continue the artistic legacy of Pacita Abad, who died in December 2004 at the early age of 58. Pacita was a Philippine-American painter, who “painted the globe” while living on five different continents and working in more than 80 countries during her prolific 31-year artistic career. |
